Museum sale to the British Museum

We are pleased that these two oils on paper by Gainsborough Dupont, once thought to be by his uncle Thomas Gainsborough, have been sold to the British Museum. Part of a rare group of only thirteen landscape oil sketches by the artist, they were probably conceived as original works of art and are wonderfully spontaneous in execution.
