Personal Data Policy

This policy applies to information held about current and prospective clients, suppliers, contractors and other individuals that we hold information. Information means information and data that we collect, store, and use.


In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” means Karen Taylor, trading as Karen Taylor Fine Art. “You” means the individual to whom the information relates.


We take and store personal data in the form of:


  • names;
  • postal and email addresses and other contact information;
  • information you give us at our events and by filling out the form on our website or contacting us;
  • information you give us in relation to your purchase of works of art or use of our services; and
  • your bank details and financial information.

We use this information to advertise pictures for sale to carry on our business as art dealers, including informing you about works of art, carrying out our obligations to you, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and confirm your identity. We also take personal data when we are legally or contractually obliged to, for example for use in invoices.


We process your personal information to:


  • perform contracts we have entered into with you or provide services you have requested, and to take necessary steps to enter into those contracts;
  • for the purposes of our legitimate interests (to provide you with an appropriate client service and ensure you are updated on our business activities); and
  • to comply with our legal obligations (including under applicable UK anti-money laundering obligations, under which we are required to take certain steps for Customer Due Diligence).

Everyone on our mailing list has requested that they should be and have given their personal data freely, in the clear knowledge of how it will be used. We keep the data until we are asked to stop sending email alerts.


All personal data is securely stored and we will never share or sell it to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.


You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link which is attached to our communications. You also have the right to:


  • request access to personal data which we hold about you and to be told how and why we are using your data;
  • rectify your personal data if you consider that it is inaccurate;
  • ask us to delete your personal data if you consider we do not have the right to hold it;
  • withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data, to the extent such processing is based on your consent;
  • object to your personal data being used; and
  • not be subject to a decision based on automated processing or profiling based on your personal data.

We will keep the information we hold about you for as long as required for the purposes set out above or to comply with any legal obligations to which we are subject. For marketing purposes, we will retain your contact information to allow us to contact you, or to record the information that you have opted out of marketing communications to enable us to respect this request.


We are not responsible for the security or content of websites to which links on our website may direct you.


If you think we have misused your data you can complain to the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office).
